Spiderman began to develop as a character in the mind of Marvel Comics editor Stan Lee. Looking for a new superhero character troubled him and made him consider this idea after reading about the Spider, a non-human character in a magazine. Stan Lee managed to introduce Spiderman as a character for the first time in the science-fiction series Amazing Fantasy, in 1962. With this first apparition, Spiderman became a favorite superhero and has expanded into all entertainment fields since then.

Stan Lee then collaborated with Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko to pencil and color the character. He wanted to design a concept that would be dear and familiar to many young people who enjoyed comic book series. This is why the character, Peter Parker, leads an ordinary dull life and is not as other superheroes in real life. The only amazing things that happen to him take place after he becomes Spiderman. During the development process of Spiderman, many people were involved and exchanged ides, which later, lead to confusions and arguments about who had the biggest contribution in designing the famous character. After the success of the issue in which Spiderman debuted, a special series, called The Amazing Spiderman, was developed and published since 1963. This was the beginning of an ongoing journey for the Spiderman character, which continued to branch out in many other fields of the industry, after making a huge impact in the comic book world. After the first Spiderman issues, young people started to create fan fusses over the series, as this kind of superhero was much easier to relate to, considering the appropriate age and the fact that Peter Parker was a normal boy, leading a similar life to the ones of the fans.

The beginnings of Spiderman are very important to the character’s fans and many are now collecting first issues of the series. Although there still are many disputes and contradictions between creators, the important thing is that an acclaimed superhero was formed and that it has managed to create a frenzy among people of all ages.
